My Life is Stuck in a Vicious Cycle

Image
I have gotten up these past few mornings, realizing that I am doing the same things day after day after day. Especially in the morning. I  get up, make coffee, set the coffee cups up to have coffee added to them. I split the English muffins and put two (whole ones) in the 4-slice toaster.  Then I get out a small yogurt-sized cup for my boyfriend's applesauce, which he takes his pills with. I warm up the small fry pan, spray with generic butter spray. Two eggs go in and the yoke is broke for the home style egg and cheese english muffin.  When I open the 3 pieces cheese, Luna, our Great Pyrenees, comes running for her daily slice of cheese. Next, coffee gets poured, toaster buttons go down and muffin halves get buttered before putting the sandwiches together.  At the table, I take my boyfriend's blood glucose, dish out his pills, then turn to my insulin that I have to give to myself. Two different kinds: Basaglar and Fiasp...long term and short term insulin...

Random Ideas (Humor)

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out. ------------------------------ ------------------- I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People move out of the way much faster now. ------------------------------ ----------------------- You can tell a lot about a woman's mood just looking at her hands. If they are holding a gun, she's probably angry. ------------------------------ ----------------- Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers. ------------------------------ -------------------------- You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone? That's common sense leaving your body. ------------------------------ ------------------------------ I don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" get's thrown around in the courtroom. ---...

Morning thought, June 20th, 2013

Image
June 5, 2013 We are born, we live, we die. That is the nature of life.  The question here is: Are we really living, or are we existing? Some people might not understand my terminology, so I will explain.  'Existing' is just living day to day: get up; go to work if you have a job; come home; and finish the day out in front of the TV or what have you. Basically, fast paced with no time to really enjoy living. 'Living', on the other hand, is really taking the time to enjoy life to the best of your ability. It means, taking time out and 'absorbing' the things around you. Reflecting on their individual beauty.  June 4, 2013 Step outside, on your balcony, deck, porch, or yard...and really "look" at what is around you. See the flower or blade of grass for it's beauty and purpose. Enjoy it! Listen to the sounds of laughter, or birds...watch them...marvel at them. Smell the air...be thankful that it's there...and all that it does ...

Pieces

pieces of life Back almost twelve years ago to the date (January 4th, 1990) I wrote a poem that still holds a lot of meaning for me...it's power of suggestion is still strong all these years later. Reflection

Image
A beginning...or...an end? As I sit here tonight, there is a lot going through my head. Last night, I received some news that although wasn't surprising, has effected me to some degree. I may be a lot of things, but cold-hearted isn't one of them. I have talked a lot about a man, who I spent 3-1/2 weeks with, got to know, and learned that he wasn't the kind, sweet man he pretended to be. And regardless of what I feel, it is unfair to continue speaking about that brief time ... now when he lies on his death bed in a hospital. He had another stroke two days ago, and this time, things are far worse.  He was completely paralyzed from what I understand, he could not talk and could only blink his eyes. His prognosis for recovery wasn't good.   Tonight though, the information came that said he now can't swallow, and they are forcing fluids into him, trying to make him comfortable...he doesn't have long to live. I find it very sad to know that his life is ...

Unpacking...and sorrow

Image
New view from where I live now Truth be told, I hate, hate, hate moving... but worse... the unpacking.  This time though, there was a lot of hurt, anger and sorrow that came out of those boxes along with what was left of my life. I will be 53 toward the end of this month, and those 13 boxes of material and sentimental possessions are all that's left of my life.  It isn't much...not really.  No dishes, very little in the line of clothing, less than 2 dozen books, about a dozen nick nacks, important papers, computer supplies, 3 pair of shoes, all my photos that hung on the wall or were in photo albums (to conserve space, I stripped all the photos out of their frames and albums)...a nd my computer. My heart ached as I pulled various items out of the boxes...remembering what I once had, and what I had to leave behind. Eleven years ago, at the end of my last marriage, when I moved out, I had everything to restart a new household and home. When I moved in with my daugh...
