Winter Storm January 19 & 20, 2019 (Photos)

We made it through both a bad snow storm and the polar vortex plunging us into negative numbers during the nights especially. Sunday night the temp here with the wind chill was -23°! Burr... The snowfall itself dumped about 12 inches on us, not too bad but still a pain to have to clean up. I took the time to document the storm, from beginning to end. As it began Saturday Jan. 19th, mid afternoon 2 hours later at twilight the next morning... across the road from us The depth of snow on a roof cute little pine tree various depths shows the depth of the snow my favorite tree up the road the wind that came with the storm and after, blew snow onto my window ledge. Geese have come to visit... So, I've been lax about adding too many posts lately, but it's not out of laziness...but either being busy or having problems with my shoulders (in which I have tendonitis in both rotor cuffs). However, I still have been taking photos...which I can do with one hand, thankfully! So here is a collection of photos I've taken this month...from frosted hillsides to feeding deer and honking geese. Enjoy! March, so far, has been a very snowy, blustery and snowy month for us here in upstate, New York. These next 5 photos were taken on March 3rd, 2013...and as you can see, we've had frosted trees, and a bit of snow to boot. Out of this particular storm, we received about 3-4 inches of snow when it was all said and done. At the break of dawn almost every morning, I have had the delight of seeing deer out behind our house in the field. Beautiful skies...Dec. 20, 2011 While we are constantly being bombarded by both the scientists and the nay-sayers as to whether climate change or global warming is real or not...anyone who is really paying attention, can tell you that the weather patterns are changing. I've been witnessing it for years now, and it's more evident this Winter than ever before. I titled this "What Winter?" for that very reason, as we aren't seeing 'typical' Winter weather here in NY.
