Journey to Justice, Interview--Part 3 Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps - May 24, 2011 False Confessions In this part of the interview with Shawn Campbell, who pleaded guilty to the murder of Rhonda Bilby in 2005, the question of 'false confession' emerges. The New York Times published an article, Oct 3, 2010 called: “I Did It” Why do people confess to crimes they didn’t commit? An expert on the subject, Alan Hirsch (who was mentioned in the news video) has a website: The Truth About False Confessions where he offers his input into why this happens. There are many mitigating factors that drive people to confess to crimes that they did not commit, and it's certainly worth the effort to take a look at the information I have linked to. The reality is that it does happen. This is the question I have dealt with since he pleaded guilty: Why--IF he is innocent? It's so easy to say "Well I wouldn't have pleaded guilty if I was innocent," however...most of us are have not tried those shoes on. (And yes--I have a few seconds on the video as well!) Adult Coloring pages: Seasonal: Winter/Christmas - November 23, 2015 Here is one I colored! Last night, I decided to try my hand at coloring a page...and above is the result. Not bad! It was fun I will admit, and it sure whiled away some time. There is a method to my madness...last week I was told I have Fibromyalgia. This diagnosis explains so much : the random sore spots around my torso; the muddled thoughts and short term memory loss at times; headaches; general feelings of not feeling well with no specific point; all the things that would not "fit" into the other diseases/syndromes I have. Since my breakdown in 2001, I had noticed that I was having some issues with trying to remember things (clearly) , dealing with continual random thoughts more than usual...it's drove me crazy. Now, I have been trying to re-strengthen my mind...and get my mind to slow down...while keeping my body as agile as I can despite my own age and physical abilities. I've been doing various ... What goes around… - November 08, 2017 My parents were married in 1956, in a Catholic church. Mom was Protestant. That very fact that she was, caused a lot of issues to rise on my dad’s side of the family, all devout Catholics. I’m really not sure how well my mom was liked by her in-laws, but in the years to follow, despite the family’s animosity, she refused to convert to dad’s religion. Mom was a gentle woman, very loving and giving. She wasn’t one to meddle in other’s affairs yet she stood her ground when she believed she was right. I was born in 1958 and by the time that I was 6 or 7, a silent war raged on that I was unaware of. Mom wanted me to know both religions, so I went to church school at a Baptist church on Tuesday afternoons as a time-release from my regular schooling. On Saturdays, one of my parents drove me to another church school at the family’s church (St. Vincent) for a couple of hours of Catholic teachings. This went on for at least a year, maybe two. I remember that one day, sometime af... Read more
