Snow comes early in NY

Almost white out as the storm started--10/27

Yesterday was my birthday and what a better surprise (shock!) than to see a snow storm blow in!  And blow in it did!  As it began...all visibility diminished for a while.

It didn't take long for it to start building up...

After a couple of hours, I went out and shot these photos...



We really didn't get too much more than a dusting, as these next photos show...



It stopped snowing around 9 p.m. last night, and got extremely cold. When I got up this morning, it was a very frosty 27° F.  Whatever was wet, froze...and what snow there was remained until late this morning.

I did get a few shots this morning...showing the frost and snow...





Winter is eager to get here, I think...and I for one, though I enjoy the looks of it, dread the cold!

    I HATE SNOW & WINTER!!! Aaaaargh!!!! :-(
    I serriously HATE it! I don't like looking at it either - it's ugly & nasty! If I were in California or Florida, I might think it was pretty, looking at a PICTURE of it! But maybe not because I really HATE it! I'm glad we haven't got any snow in Michigan yet - did see some frost this morning though. :-(

    I like looking at the snow...from inside the house! LOL I really have gotten to where I can't tolerate the cold at all...I am constantly wearing sweatshirts over my t-shirts and that's IN the house!

    I am not looking forward to the cold and snow at all!!
    That is what I do Deb, is wear a sweatshirt over a t-shirt in the house. Sometimes I even put a sweater on if I am really chilled.

    Hi, Cyn...I can't believe how chilled I get anymore! Here I sit with not one but two sweatshirts on over my t-shirt! Brrr.

Paper dolls

one kind of paper dolls I had as a child It's sometimes very strange to me to find that I can remember stuff from when I was a little girl...some 50+ years ago, and it's even stranger still that those memories still give me a sense of fondness...and loss. What spurred this particular memory, I can't say, but I know that the other day I was thinking about how much things have changed over the years. So many of the toys that I cherished as a child have come and gone...or been revamped and modernized so that they no longer look the same or even work the same. Such is the case with paper dolls. I can remember being in love with these things...probably as much as I would eventually love my first Barbie doll!  I remember sitting and playing with my paper dolls for hours on end. They were such a curious fascination for me...heavy cardboard dolls with little stands, clothing made out of a glossy but somewhat stiff paper...and then being able to simply change the outfit

Adult Coloring pages: Seasonal: Winter/Christmas

Here is one I colored! Last night, I decided to try my hand at coloring a page...and above is the result. Not bad!  It was fun I will admit, and it sure whiled away some time. There is a method to my madness...last week I was told I have Fibromyalgia. This diagnosis explains so much : the random sore spots around my torso; the muddled thoughts and short term memory loss at times; headaches; general feelings of not feeling well with no specific point; all the things that would not "fit" into the other diseases/syndromes I have.  Since my breakdown in 2001, I had noticed that I was having some issues with trying to remember things  (clearly) , dealing with continual random thoughts more than usual...it's drove me crazy.  Now, I have been trying to re-strengthen my mind...and get my mind to slow down...while keeping my body as agile as I can despite my own age and physical abilities.
